  1. FLYING SAUCER
  2.  
  3. YOU'LL NEED:
  4. 1 heavy paper plate
  5. White crafts glue
  6. 1 paper bowl
  7. Markers or crayons
  8. Buttons, beads, ribbon, glitter or stickers (optional)
  9.  
  10. STEP 1
  11. Turn the paper plate upside down.  
  12.  
  13. Put glue around the top edge of the bowl. Turn the bowl upside down and press it onto the bottom of the paper plate.  Let it dry completely.

  15. STEP 2
  16. To decorate the saucer, you can color it with markers.  If you like, glue on buttons or other decorations.  Let it dry completely.
  17.  
  18. Take your flying saucer outside and practice flying it.

  21. FOR GROWN-UPS:
  22. As your children watch the stars go by, explain these words about space: 
  23. -- Planet:  A world that travels around the sun.
  24. -- Earth:  The planet where we live.
  25. -- Solar system:  The sun and the objects that move around it, such as planets and moons.
  26. -- Galaxy:  A huge family of stars that includes our solar system. Earth is in a galaxy called the Milky Way.
  27. -- Orbit:  The path objects follow in space.
  28. -- Gravity:  The  invisible pull or attraction that holds everything on the Earth's surface.
